‘Sweet Sorrow’ readings at Penn State Behrend

6:00 PM - 7:00 PM / March 28, 2024

Three students in the creative writing program at Penn State Behrend will read from their work at the March 28 “Sweet Sorrow” reading event, in the lobby of Metzgar Center. The program, which begins at 6 p.m., is free and open to the public.

The “Sweet Sorrow” readings are a showcase for original student work. This week’s program will feature three student writers:

  • Rey Schaffner will read from a dystopian novel.

  • Samhita Chitturi will read from a rom-com novel-in-stories.

  • Hallie Spielman will read from a collection of historically informed short fiction.

The “Sweet Sorrow” readings are part of the Smith Creative Writers Reading Series and are supported by the Clarence A. and Eugenie Baumann Smith Fund. To learn more about the series, visit behrend.psu.edu/readings.
