Zoom program with member of Ukraine’s parliament

The Public Policy Initiative at Penn State Behrend will host a conversation with Oleksiy Goncharenko, a member of Ukraine’s Parliament, on Feb. 27 via Zoom. The program will begin at noon at https://psu.zoom.us/J/97453756273.

Goncharenko, 42, has served as a People’s Deputy of Ukraine — a member of parliament — since 2014. He is a member of the European Solidarity faction. He also serves in the Ukrainian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, where he has advocated for additional monitoring of human rights abuses in Belarus and for the expulsion of the Russian delegation from the parliamentary assembly.

The Feb. 27 program will be moderated by Lena Surzhko Harned, associate teaching professor of political science and associate director of the Public Policy Initiative at Penn State Behrend. Her writing and political analysis has been featured in The Atlantic, The Philadelphia Inquirer, U.S. News and World Report and on NPR.
