ERIE, Pa. — Penn State Behrend’s baseball and softball teams won the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference championships. The baseball team defeated La Roche, 7-1. The softball team defeated Mt. Aloysius, 5-2.
Behrend’s track and field teams also were in action last week. Here are the scores and highlights:
Baseball

The Lions won their first conference title since 2021. The team will face Baldwin Wallace in the NCAA Division III Regional tournament on May 17.
Softball

Jocelyn McNany, a third-year student from Cranberry Township, hit a three-run homerun in the AMCC championship game. The Lions will face Case Western in the NCAA Division III Regional tournament on May 16.
Men’s track and field
Aidan Domencic, a senior from Cranberry Township, set a Behrend record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Harrison Dillard Twilight meet at Baldwin Wallace. He finished in 9:36.21. Aidan Reinsel, a second-year student from North East, won the 400-meter hurdles at the Marty Goldberg Gator Invite at Allegheny College, finishing in 58.74. Derek Hillhouse, a third-year student from Erie, won the high jump, clearing a height of 1.89 meters.
Women’s track and field
Julia Balaski, a second-year student from Mercer, set a school record in the javelin throw at the Marty Goldberg Gator Invite at Allegheny College. She won the event with a 39.85-meter throw. Madison Kappeler, a senior from Cecil, placed second in the long jump, clearing a distance of 5.24 meters.
