ERIE, Pa. — The Penn State Behrend baseball team has won 12 consecutive games and leads the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference standings with an 8-0 conference record. The Lions travel to Fredonia on Wednesday.
Starting pitcher Colin Bolla, a sophomore from Fairview, earned his 100th career strikeout in a doubleheader against Penn State Altoona. He struck out eight batters and allowed just three hits and two walks in a full game of work.
Thomas Nicely, a junior from Delmont, hit a three-run home run.

Jocelyn McNany, a senior from Cranberry Township, went 3-for-3 in the opener against Penn State Altoona, hitting a home run and a double. Meghan Petitte, a junior from Sugarcreek, Ohio, hit a home run in the nightcap. Pitcher Abby Tingley, a junior from Union City, earned her 200th career strikeout in the opener against Carlow.
Men’s track and field
- Third (of 14 teams) at the John Papa Invite at Slippery Rock
Dan Dabrowski, a senior from Harborcreek Township, won the discus event with a 48.03-meter throw. Behrend’s 4x100 relay team — Dominic Marino, Jake Egizio, Carter Tobin and Brandon Konieczki — placed third, finishing in 41.72 — a program record.
Women’s track and field
- Ninth (of 13 teams) at the John Papa Invite at Slippery Rock
Bethany Litwiler, a junior from Reynolds, placed fourth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, finishing in 12:22.87 — a personal best. Lindsey Hartle, a junior from Pittsburgh, placed fourth in the 5,000-meter run, finishing in 19:07.42.
Men’s tennis
- Penn State Behrend 4, Nazareth 3
Jonathon Laier, a senior from Lansing, Michigan, won at No. 1 singles against Nazareth, finishing 7-5, 6-0. Graham Louis, a freshman from Erie, won at No. 3 singles, 4-6, 6-4, 7-5. Together, they won at No. 1 doubles, 6-3.
