Behrend women’s soccer team wins seventh consecutive game

ERIE, Pa. — The Penn State Behrend women’s soccer team has won seven consecutive games and is undefeated in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference action.

The Lions earned a 12-0 win over Carlow on Oct. 24. Bri Ross, a freshman from Springdale, scored two goals and had two assists. She also scored in a 3-0 victory over Brockport.

The men’s team also won at Carlow, finishing 7-0. Reilly Nickles, a senior from Pittsburgh, scored twice.

Behrend’s volleyball and swimming and diving teams also were in action last week. Here are the scores and highlights:

Women’s volleyball

  • Penn State Behrend 3, Carlow 0

Cadence Jones, a sophomore from North East, led the Lions with nine kills. Sara Nobach, a senior from Athens, Michigan, had 18 digs and four service aces.

Men’s swimming and diving

  • Penn State Behrend 161, Penn State Altoona 100

Isaac Stoeckle, a sophomore from Pittsburgh, won the 100 backstroke (52.54) and the 200 backstroke (2:01.03). He swam a leg of the 400 medley relay, which the Lions won in 3:38.21, and the 400 free relay, which the team won in 3:18.63.

Women’s swimming and diving

  • Penn State Behrend 187.5, Penn State Altoona 68.5

Camryn Watters, a junior from Greensburg, won the 50 free (25.49) and the 200 backstroke (2:14.25) and swam a leg of the 400 free relay, which the Lions won in 3:59.47. Kaitlyn True, a freshman from Denton, Texas, won the 1,000 free (11:23.19), the 100 free (59.11), and the 200 IM (2:21.32). She and Watters swam in the 400 medley relay, which the team won in 4:15.21.
