ERIE, Pa. — Brandon Konieczki, a sophomore from Erie, set an indoor program record in the long jump at the Brockport Multi, clearing a distance of 7.09 meters. He won the event and qualified for the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference regionals.

In the women’s meet, Madison Kappeler, a senior from Cecil, placed sixth in the pole vault. She cleared a height of 3.30 meters, qualifying for regionals.

Behrend’s basketball, volleyball, wrestling and bowling teams also were in action last week. Here are the scores and highlights:

Men’s basketball

  • Penn State Altoona 80, Penn State Behrend 77
  • La Roche 77, Penn State Behrend 72

Matthew McDonough, a junior from Pittsburgh, scored his 1,000th career point against Penn State Altoona. He scored 12 points and grabbed a career-high seven rebounds.

Women’s basketball

  • Penn State Behrend 77, Penn State Altoona 61
  • Penn State Behrend 83, La Roche 61

Rachel Majewski, a senior from Erie, scored 26 points against La Roche. Madilyn Boyer, a junior from Saxonburg, scored 13 points and grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds.

Men’s volleyball

  • Chatham 3, Penn State Behrend 2

Kyle Hoffman, a junior from Carlton, had 18 kills. Caden Mealy, a junior from Meadville, had 39 assists and a team-best 13 digs.

Wrestling

  • Gannon (B) 34, Penn State Behrend 14

Matt Caldwell, a sophomore from North Tonawanda, New York, won by pin in the heavyweight bout. Rudy Brown, a freshman from Burgettstown, won by technical fall in the 157-pount bout.

Lillie Holt, a junior from Pulaski, scored 198 points against Pitt-Bradford. She finished the two-day Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Second Round Robin with a total pinfall of 1,196 and an average score of 170.86.
