UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — This week, we recognize four Penn Staters who go above and beyond what's asked of them in their work at the University. Thank you to:
Jeanine Staples, a faculty member in the College of Education, whose nominator wrote: "Dr. Staples is indeed an exemplar when it comes to faculty-student relations. She goes above and beyond for her students, exhibiting care for their sincere development! Dr. Staples is a good role-model and excellent scholar! Thanks for all you do!"
Leigh-Ann Bedal, a faculty member at Penn State Behrend, whose nominator wrote: "Dr. Bedal, recently featured on the PBS show "Nova," is an archaeologist who discovered the gardens at Petra, in Jordan. She continues to excavate the area and in the past has made it possible for students to work on the dig with her."
Tina Ruberto, in the Office of Ethics and Compliance, whose nominator wrote: "Tina handles an incredible number of tasks simultaneously and achieves an incredible level of performance. She never complains about work load or new projects. Instead she embraces each new assignment as 'another opportunity to excel.' She is a terrific team member with a contagious positive attitude."
Tammy Whitehill, in the Smeal College of Business, whose nominator wrote: "After a member of our support staff went on maternity leave, Tammy miraculously managed our office and 350 students basically on her own! She has been and always will be amazing!"
Do you know someone who deserves a shout-out? If you do, consider taking a minute to nominate that person by filling out a short online form. For more information about the process, visit the "We Are!" guidelines.
