Alumnus Sadusky to present commencement address for Bellisario College

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — A Penn State alumnus who has served as a CEO for several communications- and media-related companies will deliver the commencement address for the Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications May 6 at the Bryce Jordan Center.

Vince Sadusky, the chief executive officer and a board member of International Game Technology (IGT) earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting and was recognized as a University Scholar in 1987. He also earned an MBA from New York Institute of Technology.

IGT is a global leader in gaming, with headquarters in the United Kingdom and operating headquarters in Rome, Las Vegas, and Providence, Rhode Island. The company  has approximately 10,500 employees across the globe and does business in over 100 countries.

Sadusky is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction of the company, which is publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange. He works directly with the board and other senior management to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans and policies.

Prior to taking on his current role at IGT, he served as CEO and a board member of Univision Communications (2018-20), the largest Hispanic media company in the U.S., operating multiple broadcast and cable networks, local TV and radio stations, digital video and audio streaming. Prior to Univision, he was CEO and board member from of Media General (2014-17), a local TV station and digital media company with more than 50 TV stations and 5,000 employees. From 2006-14, he was CEO and board member of LIN Media, a local TV station broadcaster and digital media company.

Additionally, Sadusky has served on the boards of the prestigious Paley Center for Media, the National Association of Broadcasters, and was the treasurer for the NBC Affiliates Board. Earlier in his career, he was chief financial officer of Telemundo Communications from 1999 to 2004, where the executive team negotiated a sale of the company to NBC, the U.S. commercial broadcast network.

Sadusky was also the Bellisario College’s commencement speaker for a virtual ceremony in 2020. He and his wife, Wendy, have three children — William, Olivia and Heather. William earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Penn State in 2016 and Olivia earned her bachelor’s degree in finance from the University in 2020.
