UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Students from any Penn State campus and any major may submit information about themselves and samples of their work to be considered as the poster artist for the 2023 Centre Film Festival.

Entries are due by June 26 and should include one to three samples of a student’s work and/or their portfolio, along with biographical information and their relationship to cinema. Applications must be completed online.

Penn State students have designed the poster for the popular Centre Film Festival every year since its inception in 2019. Students selected to serve as the poster artist have represented a variety of majors, including design, film, the humanities, photography and the sciences.

“From its inception, the festival has been committed to encouraging Penn State student involvement at every step, in front of and behind the screen,” said Pearl Gluck, an associate professor of film production and a co-founder of the Centre Film Festival, "The design of our annual poster is a testament to that. We are proud of how insightful each year's student designs have been and we are looking forward to expanding our search to all our campuses for our fifth year as a festival.”

After the June 26 application deadline, semifinalists will be announced June 30. Those entrants will have until July 14 to submit their final pitches and the winner will be announced July 24 — with the final design utilized for the festival poster and adapted for clothing, merchandise, social media and more.

The 2023 Centre Film Festival will be conducted Oct. 30 through Nov. 5 at the State Theater in State College and the Rowland Theatre in Philipsburg.
