UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Twenty students from the Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications were nominated – individually or with a team – for college student production awards at the 40th annual mid-Atlantic Emmys.

Student work was recognized in seven categories representing different types of media and covering several areas of journalism. Student reporters from “Centre County Report,” a weekly TV newscast produced by Penn State students; The Daily Collegian, the student-run campus newspaper; and “In the Game;” a sports issues show run by students for a national audience, received recognition. The nominations demonstrate the success of students at the regional level and the breadth of opportunities the Bellisario College and University provide.

The mid-Atlantic Emmy Awards will be presented in Philadelphia on Oct. 1 at the Loews Philadelphia Hotel.
