READING, Pa. — Berks Benefitting THON, a Penn State Berks student organization will host a delicious meal and a night of fun — all for a good cause. The second annual "Inspire the Night" benefit dinner will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 11, 2019, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Reading. This event is open to students, faculty, staff and community members. Customers Bank is the title sponsor for this year’s event.

The IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon, commonly known as THON, is the largest student-run philanthropic event in the world. THON is committed to enhancing the lives of children and families impacted by childhood cancer. Their mission is to provide emotional and financial support, spread awareness and ensure funding for critical research — all in pursuit of a cure.

The event will immerse guests in the experience of THON with an evening full of fun, inspiration and games, including giant Jenga, Plinko and many more. Attendees will hear from families who have been impacted by pediatric cancer and benefited from the funds raised by THON. In addition, a significant benefactor to the organization will be recognized and there will be a display of artwork created by third- and fourth-graders who participated in THON’s second annual art contest.

Last year’s event had approximately 150 attendees and raised in excess of $19,000 to help families affected by pediatric cancer. This year, Berks Benefitting THON hopes to increase those numbers.

Tickets can be purchased here. For more information, contact the student directors of the event, Jasleen Bhogal, jkb231@psu.edu, or Veronika Garguilo, vcg5048@psu.edu.
