In anticipation of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, the Penn State Berks Office of Health Services is holding a program titled “When Alcohol Is the Weapon” from 1 to 2:15 p.m. Monday, March 31, in the Perkins Student Center Multipurpose Room. This event is free and open to the campus community, and pre-registration is not required.
Bethany Bower from Berks Women in Crisis will discuss the link between alcohol and sexual assault, including sexual assault and alcohol use statistics, college campus sexual assault statistics, sexual assault law in Pennsylvania, consent, what one could do as a friend of a victim of sexual assault, and what one could do if he or she is a victim of sexual assault.
This event is sponsored by the Berks Wellness Committee. For more information, contact the Office of Health Services at 610-396-6075.
