MEDIA, Pa. – Brandywine Athletics will be offering its first multi-sport youth camps this summer. Camps will be run by Penn State Brandywine coaches and student-athletes and will offer a wide variety of fun-filled activities for children ages 7 through 12.
“We are so excited to offer multi-sport youth camps this summer. Our long-standing women’s basketball coach, Larry Johnson, has a lot of experience running youth camps in the Media area,” said Bobbi Caprice, director of athletics. “In addition to Larry and a few of our other coaches, I am excited for these camps to provide an avenue for our student-athletes to get connected with the youth in our community by serving as camp counselors.”
The camps will focus on a wide array of sports, including basketball, dodgeball, football, kickball, wiffleball, hockey, soccer and handball. With four weeks of programming during the summer to choose from, each one-week camps’ activities will promote skill development and teamwork.
“We have exceptional student-athletes who will serve as great role models to the campers,” Caprice added.
“As a mom myself, I know that parents are looking for convenient summer camp options for their children that are going to provide a good experience to their child, and not break the bank! Through these camps, we are able to provide a service in high demand that also allows us to connect with our external community.”
Discounts are available for Penn State Brandywine alumni parents who attended the campus for at least one semester, as well as for Penn State Brandywine employees. Camps will be offered on the following dates from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.: June 17-20, June 24-27, July 1-3 and July 22-25.
