SCHUYLKILL HAVEN, Pa. — On Saturday, May 18, 11 Penn State organizations will co-sponsor the 10th annual Penn State Day at Knoebels Amusement Park in Elysburg, Pennsylvania. Registration will begin at 10 a.m. at Pavilion O. A program will begin at 11 a.m. and will include lunch, a performance by the Alumni Blue Band, an appearance by the Nittany Lion, and prize raffles.
Several ticket options are available in advance. Attendees 5 years and older can purchase a ticket for $22, which includes lunch, door prize raffle, and a $10 food/ride ticket booklet. The cost for children (age 4 and under) is $12 and will include lunch, door prize raffle and a $10 food/ride ticket. A “lunch only” ticket can be purchased for $12 and does not include a food/ride ticket booklet. The live entertainment and prize raffles noted above are included with all ticket prices. Penn State Day T-shirts can be ordered in advance for $10 each. The deadline for reservations is April 30.
Individual organizations hosting this event are Penn State campus alumni societies at Berks, Hazleton, Schuylkill, Wilkes-Barre and Scranton and the Berks County, Bucks County, Greater Hazleton, Greater Scranton, Greater Susquehanna Valley, and Schuylkill chapters of the Penn State Alumni Association.
This year, there will be a collection for the Wilkes-Barre VA Medical Center. Individuals can donate gift cards, new blankets, and new clothing items (including sweat pants and sweat shirts in assorted sizes) to veterans. Donations will be collected at Knoebels. Knoebels Amusement Resort is offering a free wristband to all those who served or are currently serving in the military with proof of service on this day only.
Last year’s event was attended by over 500 alumni, family and friends. All are welcome!
