SHARON, Pa. — The Penn State Shenango Alumni Society will hold its 18th annual Golf Scramble on Saturday, June 15, at Pine Lakes Golf Club in Hubbard, Ohio. Proceeds from this year’s event will benefit Penn State Shenango athletics and student scholarships.
“As our society continues to look for ways to make an impact on the Shenango campus, we decided to focus our fundraising efforts on the newly established athletics program,” said Carl Sizer, Penn State Alumni Society president. “Our community rallied around the men’s basketball team, who had a successful inaugural season, and we’re looking forward to women’s volleyball to begin this fall. This is our society’s largest fundraiser, and we are fortunate to have so much community support so we can make an impact in our students’ lives.”
Registration will begin at 8 a.m. followed by a shotgun start at 9 a.m. The cost is $85 per person, which includes 18 holes of golf with a cart, a continental breakfast, lunch provided by the Sharon Hot Dog Shop, dinner provided by Smokey Dayz BBQ, and beverages on the course. There will be hole-in-one contests; door prize drawings; first, second and third place overall awards; men’s and women’s skill prizes; and a top-finishing all-ladies team prize.
Sponsorship packages are available from $100 to $1,250. Merchandise and gift certificate donations also are welcome for the basket raffle.
Registration is filling up, so call for your Golf Scramble form today. Only the first 36 paid teams will be included. The deadline to register is May 31. For more information, contact Erika Jones at 724-983-2905 or email her at ejj129@psu.edu.
