UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State THON has announced its partnership with the Penn State Alumni Association for the pep rally during THON Weekend 2020, set for Feb. 21-23, highlighted by another arena White Out.

This is the second year the Alumni Association has partnered with THON for the rep rally.

Last year’s White Out was met with surprise to all of the spectators in the Bryce Jordan Center during the pep rally event where the Penn State Alumni Association distributed 12,000 white shirts to those in attendance.

THON’s pep rally includes multiple performances by Penn State sports teams, and last year’s judges included Paul Clifford, CEO of the Penn State Alumni Association.

“THON has been part of the Penn State experience for more than 40 years and its impact inspires Penn State alumni," said Clifford. "The work of THON volunteers and alumni that support this effort swell thy fame of dear old State. The Alumni Association is proud to partner with THON and play a role in the fight to end childhood cancer.”

This year, alumni can show their support from home by purchasing a special anniversary edition shirt and tuning into the pep rally livestream. Penn State alumni worldwide now total more than 700,000, with 2020 marking 150 years since the Penn State Alumni Association was founded.

Shirts can be purchased for $15 on the online THON store, with 100% of proceeds benefiting THON. Those wishing to receive the shirt in time for the pep rally must order by Jan. 24.
