Alumnus, entrepreneur to address 'Power of Storytelling' in free lecture

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — An alumnus who has founded an agency focused on addressing humanitarian issues by supporting organizations with media production and online storytelling will present a free public lecture about his career path and work March 18 on the University Park campus.

Matt Ford, CEO and co-founder of Vignette Global, will present “The Power of Storytelling” at 7 p.m. March 18 in Foster Auditorium of Paterno Library.

Ford, who earned his journalism degree from the University in 2005, oversees projects at the intersection between content and technology. He works to ensure that great content is elevated by an intuitive user experience and powerful storytelling. The company’s clients include UNICEF, The World Bank and others.

Before co-founding Vignette, Ford worked as a multimedia journalist for The Associated Press covering the 2008 U.S. presidential election, the “Arab Spring,” and the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Before that, Ford worked in the Los Angeles film industry as a set and studio lighting technician on a variety of productions, both film and television.
