Big Hollow Road to open to northbound traffic to alleviate rush-hour congestion

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Due to rush-hour traffic congestion caused by the closure of University Drive Extension, the Penn State Office of Physical Plant will open Big Hollow Road to northbound traffic from Tower Road to Fox Hollow Road beginning at 3:30 p.m. today, April 19.

The section of Big Hollow Road from Tower Road to Fox Hollow Road will only be open from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The road will be restricted to one-way northbound traffic only; vehicles will not be able to access Big Hollow Road from Fox Hollow Road traveling south to Tower and Services roads.

Big Hollow Road, which connects Services and Tower roads north to Fox Hollow Road, can be accessed between Lion Surplus and the Procurement Services Building.

Large box trucks, tractor-trailers, and similar vehicles are prohibited from using this section of Big Hollow Road.
