UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — One of Penn State’s most involved student organizations turns two decades old this year, with plans to continue the same level of energy and enthusiasm the group’s student leaders have displayed over the years.
The Blue & White Society — the student membership of the Penn State Alumni Association — will celebrate its 20th year by incorporating birthday elements into the group’s usual year-round events that elevate student pride and spotlight University traditions and heritage.
The Blue & White Society will kick off the celebration with its annual welcome event: Blue & White BASH” from 5 to 7 p.m. Aug. 27, at the Hintz Family Alumni Center. Other events that the Blue & White Society organizes throughout the year include Rally in the Valley — a traditional football pep rally held the Friday night before a select game — Winter Chill and PS I (heart) U Week, among many other events and student programs.
“We’re going to incorporate the birthday theme in everything that we do this year,” said Lindsey Zapletal, the Alumni Association’s assistant director of student involvement. “Our students want to get out on campus, be more active and add more student members.”To read the entire story, including details on how the Blue & White Society will interact with students across the commonwealth — and more details on how to join — visit the Alumni Association's website.
