UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Find the luck of the Irish tonight—and support the fight against cancer—when a variety of campus leaders and "celebrities" will be auctioned off to benefit Relay For Life of Penn State.
The Blue & White Society, in partnership with Relay For Life, will host the Luck of the Irish Date Auction at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, in Robb Hall of the Hintz Family Alumni Center.
Some of the individuals who will be up for bid includes:
—Heather Wong, Blue & White Society president
—Katie Mailey, THON 2016 executive director
—Rick Groves, IFC president
—Matt Zanellato, Penn State football player
Come to the auction ready to place a bid on a ‘date’ with any of these well-known Penn State students. Tickets for the event are $4.99 and can be purchased at the door. All proceeds from the event will be donated to Relay For Life. This event is open to the public.
“This annual event presented by the Blue & White Society and Relay For Life of Penn State continues the fight against cancer after THON weekend, so be sure to come out ready to bid!” said Heather Wong, Blue & White Society president.
Each year, Penn State students and members of the State College community work to raise money for the American Cancer Society, which provides emotional and financial support for cancer patients through the financing of several programs as well as lifesaving research. The fundraising culminates in Relay For Life, a 24-hour walk-a-thon. Relay For Life of Penn State 2016 will be held on April 9-10. For more information, visit www.psurelay.com.
The Blue & White Society is the student membership of the Penn State Alumni Association, with societies at campuses across the Commonwealth. With nearly 9,000 members, it is the largest and one of the most active student organizations at Penn State.
