UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Blue & White Society’s Riff Off will hit all the notes when singers take the stage at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 9, at the Flex Theatre in the HUB. Join the student membership of the Penn State Alumni Association for their musical competition featuring a cappella groups from University Park and Bucknell University.
All of the proceeds from the event will benefit Relay For Life of Penn State. The Riff Off competition will feature the Penn State a cappella groups None of the Above, Shades of Blue, and Savoir Faire, as well as Bucknell University’s Two Past Midnight. There will also be a special halftime show featuring a performance by RAM Squad.
Tickets for the Blue & White Society’s Riff Off are $4.99 and can be purchased at the door (while supplies last). The competition will be judged by Richard Bundy, former director of the Penn State Blue Band; John Connolly, president of the Performing Arts Council; and Stephen Hill, a member of the Penn State Thespians. Ryan Jacobs, vice president of the Penn State Thespians, will be the emcee for the event. The Riff Off will be judged using a point system, and the winning group will be awarded a prize. Audience participation is key in this exciting event!
