Changes to parking, transit at University Park announced for Thanksgiving break

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State Transportation Services has announced changes to parking and transit services at University Park during the University's Thanksgiving holiday break.

Parking

Monday, Nov. 21, through Wednesday, Nov. 23:

All normal weekday faculty, staff, student and visitor parking regulations will remain in effect.

Thursday, Nov. 24, through Friday, Nov. 25:

Faculty/staff and student permit holders may park at Eisenhower Deck and all surface parking areas normally available to them during Evening/Weekend hours, but all other regular parking regulations will remain in effect.

Overnight restrictions between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. for the Commuter lots will remain in effect, and all reserved parking spaces such as ADA, service/delivery, etc. will remain reserved.

Visitor parking will be available at the East, HUB, Nittany and West decks at the rate of $1 per hour. However, due to the Penn State home football game vs. Michigan State on Saturday, Nov. 26, event weekend parking rates will apply for extended parking as listed below.

Weekend visitor parking

Weekend event parking rates are in effect for overnight parking on home football game weekends beginning on Thursday. Visitors wishing to park overnight must park at the East, HUB, Nittany or West decks. Overnight visitor parking is prohibited at all other parking areas.

Standard parking rates ($1 per hour/$16 daily maximum fee) will apply for the first 24 hours parked for those parking on Thursday and for the first 12 hours parked for those parking on Friday, after which the following event weekend rates will take effect and be due upon exiting each facility:

  • Thursday arrival: $50.
  • Friday arrival: $45. 

Visitors arriving on Friday also may park at the Eisenhower Deck beginning at 5 p.m. for $45, payable through ParkMobile (zone number 95110).

Weekend event parking is permitted through 6 p.m. Sunday.

CATABUS service

Saturday, Nov. 19, through Wednesday, Nov. 23:

Reduced service.

There will be no Blue Loop service on Saturday and Sunday, and there will be no White Loop service Monday through Friday. 

Thursday, Nov. 24:

No service.

Friday, Nov. 25:

Reduced service.

Saturday, Nov. 26, through Sunday, Nov. 27:

Full service.
