UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Penn State officials are alerting commuting students, faculty, staff and other motorists to avoid if possible the area of Park Avenue from Innovation Park to the intersection of Porter Road and Fox Hollow Road.

Incoming traffic and large recreational vehicles arriving at Penn State for Saturday's (Oct. 25) Nittany Lion match-up against Ohio State are causing congestion on local roadways, such as Route 322 and exit ramps in the vicinity. University Police report that traffic trying to reach overnight parking areas around Beaver Stadium is moving at a steady but slow pace, and incoming game traffic has been restricted to the berm of the West-bound lane of Park Avenue coming off of the Route 322 ramp for Beaver Stadium. Police anticipate long waits for those in the line of game-day traffic who are attempting to reach parking lots. Officials suggest that anyone who can avoid the area as they exit work or leave campus for the day should attempt to do so to not only avoid a slow commute, but also to eliminate adding to the already existing congestion. Motorists exiting from  that end of campus should move toward North Atherton Street to exit and find an alternate route to their destination.
