UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Three parking decks at Penn State’s University Park campus – East, HUB and Nittany – will expand their fee hours to 24 hours a day, seven days a week, effective July 1. This change will affect non-permitted visitors only, as faculty, staff and students who hold a valid campus parking permit will continue to be able to park in these decks for no charge during evening and weekend hours.
Parking at these locations will require a valid permit or payment of the hourly ($1 per hour) fee at all times. As always, permit holders must scan their permit for entry and exit during all hours, including weekends.
Frequent visitors to campus can avoid the hourly parking fee during evening and weekend hours by purchasing an evening/weekend permit at the Parking Office, located in Eisenhower Parking Deck, for $6 per month. This permit provides access to most faculty/staff parking areas on weekdays from 4 p.m. until 7:30 a.m. the following day, and all day on Saturdays and Sundays.
Evening and weekend access associated with faculty/staff and student permits will not change.
No-charge parking will remain available for visitors in Red A and all Orange and Commuter lots on weekdays after 5 p.m. and all day on most Saturdays and Sundays. Fees may be required in these areas during events. Overnight parking is not permitted in the Commuter lots, with or without a permit.
Customer support is always available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, by pressing the assistance button at all in-lane and pay-on-foot machines at each parking deck.
Information on additional changes to visitor access at select faculty/staff parking areas will be announced this summer.
