UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State University Police and Public Safety will host and participate in an active shooter training exercise from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, May 10, at Beaver Stadium.
The exercise is not expected to have an impact on the campus community; however, students, employees and visitors may notice emergency vehicles in the area.
Penn State and State College police are leading the exercise that also will include local, state and federal agencies from multiple public safety disciplines.
The purpose of the drill is to test and improve the integration of multiple agencies when responding to an active shooter incident.
The training will be closed to the news media due to the nature of the exercise.
