UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Penn State student chapter of the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) will hold its annual Lawnmower Clinic April 7 and 8.

The clinic provides an opportunity for the Penn State community to have their push-type mowers checked and prepped by ASABE members, and for the student organization to raise funds for its events and activities.

Cost of the service is $35 for mowers dropped off at the High Bay garage off of East Park Avenue, or $50 for pickup and delivery.

As part of the service, the engineering students will:

  •  Start the mower before servicing;
  •  Clean under the deck;
  • - Sharpen and balance the blade;
  •  Secure the blade;
  •  Clean the air filter;
  •  Check, clean and gap the spark plug;
  •  Change the oil;
  •  Wash the mower; and
  •  Start the mower after servicing.

Anyone interested in dropping off a mower, or having a student pick up/return their mower, must fill out this form.

Questions about the clinic may be directed to ASABE president Chris Valdez at chris.valdez322@gmail.com
