Financial literacy webinar to cover mortgages

Webinars through the Sokolov-Miller Family Financial and Life Skills Center are offered at no cost to the Penn State community

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The financial professionals at the Sokolov-Miller Family Financial and Life Skills Center are offering a workshop focused on the mortgages from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 19.

Participants can use this Zoom link to attend the webinar at no cost. Additionally, self-study modules are available here from “MoneyCounts: A Penn State Financial Literacy Series.”

The Tuesday webinar will cover the key mortgage terms you need to know, components of a mortgage, being a first-time homebuyer and the search process, ways to improve your chances of getting a good mortgage and the amortization schedule for a mortgage.

The next webinar is scheduled for June 2 and will focus on women and finances.

The Sokolov-Miller Family Financial and Life Skills Center offers services to the entire Penn State community and is part of Penn State Undergraduate Education, the academic administrative unit that provides leadership and coordination for University-wide programs and initiatives in support of undergraduate teaching and learning at Penn State.
