Financial literacy webinars scheduled for May 18 and June 1

Webinars and events through the Sokolov-Miller Family Financial and Life Skills Center are offered at no cost to the Penn State community

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Sokolov-Miller Family Financial and Life Skills Center will offer a webinar on mortgages on May 18, and a webinar covering financial considerations for women on June 1.

In the mortgage webinar from noon to 1 p.m. on May 18, participants can learn about the key terms they need to know about when dealing with mortgages, components of the mortgage, first-time homebuying and the search process, ways to improve the chances of getting a good mortgage, and amortization schedules for mortgages.

Starting at noon on June 1, the webinar focusing on women’s finances will cover financial challenges specific to women, student loans, top financial missteps women may take, financial strategies for women, and what women can do collectively.

The Sokolov-Miller Family Financial and Life Skills Center offers services to the entire Penn State community and is part of Penn State Undergraduate Education, the academic administrative unit that provides leadership and coordination for University-wide programs and initiatives in support of undergraduate teaching and learning at Penn State.
