Free kids carnival to be held at Penn State’s Innovation Park on Oct. 22

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Families and children are invited to an afternoon of ocean and science-related activities and photos with PBS Kids characters and the Penn State Nittany Lion during a free carnival at Penn State’s Innovation Park on Sunday, Oct. 22.  

WPSU Penn State’s Eventapalooza will take place from 1-4 p.m. at 100 Innovation Blvd. in State College. The event is free and registration is not required to attend.

Kids will have the opportunity to:

  • Learn about the ocean through hand-on experiments and activities;
  • Take photos with PBS KIDS’ Splash and Bubbles and become a Reeftown Ranger;
  • Explore a construction and fire truck;
  • Meet the Penn State Nittany Lion; and
  • Interact with the Ocean Discovery Zone.

The first 500 children ages 2 through 8 will receive a treat bag that includes a free PBS Kids book, a Dairy Queen coupon, and various WPSU and sponsor items. Families are encouraged to bring food donations that will be shared with area food banks. Cat food and canned dog food also will be accepted.
