Harrisburg panel to discuss 2016 presidential candidates’ economic policies

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. — Penn State Harrisburg will present an panel titled “Economic Policies of Presidential Candidates” from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 28, in the Olmsted Building Galley Lounge on campus. The panel is part of the campus' Academic Perspective on Current Events series.

Faculty members from the School of Business Administration will discuss and compare the advantages and disadvantages of the proposed economic policies of the main candidates for the presidential elections. The discussion will include a wide range of issues such as taxes, debt, minimum wage, immigration, social security, international trade, health care, and infrastructure.

The panel will include Nihal Bayraktar, associate professor of economics; David Buehler, assistant professor of economics; Indrit Hoxha, associate professor of economics; and Sabri Yilmaz, instructor in economics.
