Help Penn State students dress for success by donating a suit

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Career Services and the University Park Undergraduate Association (UPUA) have partnered to create a Professional Attire Closet for Penn State students at University Park as they prepare for spring 2016 on-campus interviews and career fairs.

Career Services and UPUA are asking faculty and staff to donate a gently worn suit and help a student dress for success. From 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Nov. 9-Dec. 4, faculty and staff can drop off gently worn suits at the Bank of America Career Services Center. To donate:

  • Check your closet for a gently worn suit(s) that has not been worn in some time or no longer fits. Experts say if something has not been worn in six months, it may be time to pass it along.
  • Drop off your donation(s) by 5:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4, at the Bank of America Career Services Center’s lobby. You can park in front of the building on Eisenhower Road with your flashers on and come in and hang your suit(s) on a coat rack. Hangers will be provided.

Balfurd Cleaners has agreed to clean all donations and deliver them to Career Services where students will be able to stop by to try on and select a suit. Several local clothing stores have donated coupons so that students have discounts while purchasing shirts, tops and other clothing items to accompany their gently worn professional suits. For more information, email careerfairs@psu.edu.
