UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Penn State Lion Ambassadors will host a gala benefitting the Centre County Women’s Resource Center (CCWRC), coinciding with Penn State’s Sexual Violence Awareness Week.
The gala will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 1, at the Hintz Family Alumni Center. The event culminates the week of events by offering the “what’s next” for Penn State in combatting sexual violence.
“Lion Ambassadors wanted to be involved in this weeklong project to represent those whose voices are not usually heard,” said Alice Guina, Lion Ambassadors university relations director and gala director. “The Women’s Resource Center represents any member of the community — regardless of gender or sexual orientation — who has experienced sexual violence. We are very excited for this event and hope it continues on into the future.”
The gala’s theme will focus on bystander intervention. All donations and proceeds from the evening will benefit the CCWRC.
The evening will also introduce Title IX Coordinator Paul Apicella to the Penn State community.
Tickets are $20 in advance online and $25 at the door. Cocktail attire is required.
