UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Penn State Lion Ambassadors will walk backwards through Penn State’s history at their annual Lantern Tours event.

The event will take place from 7-9 p.m., Wednesday, April 19, at Old Main. Walking tours through parts of campus will leave continuously, featuring characters and events from Penn State’s past.

“This is one of my favorite events that Lion Ambassadors holds because Penn State’s history is such a prominent part of the school’s identity, so it’s rewarding to see people get excited about that aspect of the University,” Project Leader Jackson Houser said. “Lantern Tours draws in lots of members from the community in addition to students, and it’s really cool seeing people of all ages come together to learn about something that has greatly impacted everyone.”

In addition to walking tours, the event will feature Old Main bell tower tours, a petting zoo, trivia games and prizes, multiple entertainment acts, including a performance from the band Lenina Crowne and free food. Lantern Tours is free and open to the public.

The Penn State Lion Ambassadors, a student group of the Penn State Alumni Association, seeks to instill knowledge and pride in all members of the Penn State community by hosting events focused on different aspects and traditions of Penn State. Lion Ambassadors also play an active role in University admissions as campus tour guides and serve as an important facet of student outreach for the Alumni Association.
