UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State students and community members are invited to attend the block-party-style event LION Bash on Sept. 9 in downtown State College.
On Thursday, Sept. 9, from 5 to 8 p.m., the 100, 200 and 300 blocks of South Allen Street in State College will be filled with multiple engagement stations to help attendees learn more about the community. This event is a place for students to find access to local resources to help them meet their needs while they study at Penn State, as well as learn about great community organizations they can get involved with during their time in the community.
“The University is excited to, once again, partner with the State College Borough to offer LION Bash as a resource and welcome back to long-term residents and students,” said Barry Bram, senior director for Student Engagement Programs in Penn State Student Affairs. “The event is a great opportunity for students to learn about State College, the programs and services that are available, and to meet long-term residents. State College is home for University Park students, and LION Bash allows students a way to see all that State College has to offer.”
Attendees can enjoy food and entertainment while browsing more than130 engagement stations, including local businesses, nonprofit organizations, Penn State offices and student organizations, and more.
Entertainment will feature local musicians performing at the Bill Welch Plaza and the State College Municipal Building, as well as balloon art, HoopSkate and caricatures in various locations through the festival.
The LION Bash is an annual collaboration between State College Borough and Penn State. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Borough of State College is requiring that all attendees and vendors wear masks while attending LION Bash 2021.
