UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Following a successful first year, the LION (Living in One Neighborhood) Bash is scheduled to hit downtown State College Aug. 30 on South Allen Street.
In its second year, LION Bash offers live music and performances, games, prizes, food and engagement booths where volunteers will hand out informational packets. The town-gown event gives student and non-student residents a chance to get together at the start of the fall semester.
The bash started last year as an extension of the annual LION Walk, which has become a traditional way for the University and State College officials to begin the new school year by getting to know each other and residents in the borough, while strengthening the sense of community their town-and-gown partnership has built.
This year, it is its own event. Free activities will run from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on South Allen Street. For more information, visit lionbash.com.
