MONACA, Pa. — It’s just a little rainbow-colored card, stuck to an office door or displayed on a desk. But it represents a culture of inclusion, understanding and safety. And Penn State Beaver wants to see more of them. That’s why the campus is offering a Safe Zone training session from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. on March 29 in the Student Union Building, Room 16.Safe Zone is a University-wide program designed to raise awareness and visibility of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning population at Penn State, to understand the issues facing LGBTQ students and to become aware of available University resources.Training sessions provide a foundation of knowledge needed to be an effective ally to LGBTQ students, and those who complete the training are able to display one of the Safe Zone cards in their work environment. To learn more and apply to be a Safe Zone member, visit https://pennstate.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_dpCrwirhgB8mbPL.
