Malobabich joins Beaver’s Housing and Food Services staff

Carl Malobabich Jr. has joined the Penn State Beaver Office of Housing and Food Services staff as a cook. His previous positions have included second cook for Penn State Hospitality Services, executive chef at DuBois Country Club, sous chef at Wildwood Golf Club, and executive chef at Gateway Lodge Country Inn & Restaurant.

Malobabich also has been sous chef at the Radisson Hotel, Monroeville; the Common Plea Restaurant, Pittsburgh; Armstrong’s Restaurant, Moon Township, and Jackson Rancheria Casino Hotel & Conference Center, Jackson, Calif.

While at Jackson Rancheria, he received the Achievement in Excellence Award and was featured in the D’Vine Wine and Visitors Guide as chef of the Bronze Eagle Restaurant. He served a student externship at Roy’s at Pebble Beach, The Inn at Spanish Bay, Pebble Beach, Calif.

Malobabich, a native of Hopewell Township, served in the U.S. Air Force and graduated from the International Culinary Academy, Pittsburgh.
