UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Journalists from national, regional and campus news publications will come together on Jan. 25 to discuss how technology and changing dynamics among students are impacting the news industry.
The panel discussion, titled “News and Today’s College Students,” is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. in Schwab Auditorium. It has been organized by Penn State Student Affairs and the Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications to celebrate the Student Newspaper Readership Program’s 20th Anniversary Week, which runs Jan. 22-26. This event is free and open to the public.
Among those featured in the discussion are:
- New York Times reporter Stephanie Saul
- USA Today assistant breaking news editor Katharine Lackey
- Centre Daily Times executive editor John Roach
- The Daily Collegian editor-in-chief Samantha Ruland
In addition to the panel, students can find additional information on how to use the print and digital news subscriptions covered by their tuition dollars by visiting tables in the HUB-Robeson Center throughout the week.
The Student Newspaper Readership Program is a program in Penn State Student Affairs.
