UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Movin' On, Penn State’s annual music festival, has released the application for its 2017 emcees. The festival is searching for two student emcees, one male and one female, who will host all of the events leading up to the annual festival. This includes all marketing and promotional events, local artist spotlights, the annual "Battle of the Bands" competition, and the festival itself. Applications are due by 5 p.m. on Nov. 18.

The Movin’ On emcees will be responsible for entertaining and controlling crowds, keeping the energy alive, and maintaining a steady flow of information throughout events. Individuals should be passionate about Penn State, Movin’ On, and music as a whole. Candidates should have an upbeat and positive attitude, strong speaking skills, and an ability to think on their feet. Additional responsibilities with this role may include selecting music and writing scripts for events with the directors of marketing and event coordinators.

Students can apply online at http://bit.ly/MovinOn2017Emcee.

Movin’ On, Penn State’s annual music festival, has been named one of the top five student-run festivals in the country and aims to celebrate graduating seniors who are “movin’ on” in their lives. Since its inception in 1975, Movin’ On has stayed true to its roots by providing students a day of diverse music and events, all free of charge. The festival is funded though UPAC (University Park Allocation Committee) and the Penn State student activity fee. Movin’ On is made possible through collaboration with UPUA (University Park Undergraduate Association), GPSA (Graduate & Professional Student Association), ARHS (Association of Residence Hall Students), and SPA (Student Programming Association).
