UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Multiple parking facilities will be impacted this weekend by a busy slate of campus events. Faculty, staff and students are advised that several parking areas will have restricted access, while several others will require payment of an event parking fee for vehicles without a valid Penn State parking permit. All drivers are urged to use caution and allow extra time to reach their destinations.
Commuter Lots (Lot 44/Stadium West/Porter North)
Men’s Hockey will host Michigan State at Pegula Ice Arena at 7 p.m. Friday, and a $5 event parking fee for vehicles without a valid Penn State permit will be in effect beginning at 5 p.m.
On Saturday, men’s basketball will host Eastern Michigan at the Bryce Jordan Center at 12 p.m., while men’s hockey will take on Michigan State at 3 p.m. A $5 event parking fee will vehicles without a valid Penn State permit will be in effect beginning at 10 a.m.
Pegula Ice Arena will also host the Super Series Hockey Tournament beginning Friday through Sunday. Those attending this event are directed to pay for parking at the pay station area at Lot 44 or Stadium West if arriving before 5 p.m. Friday. The $5 event parking fee will apply to those arriving on Saturday, while no fee will be due at the Commuter lots on Sunday.
Lot Yellow H and Orange F
The section of Lot Yellow H located south of Pegula Ice Arena will be reserved for men’s hockey staff and media parking only on Friday from approximately noon to 10 p.m. Permit holders not affiliated with men’s hockey or Pegula Ice Arena parked in this area before noon are asked to exit no later than 6 p.m. Friday. This section will also be reserved for men’s hockey staff and media parking only on Saturday until approximately 6 p.m.
The sections of Lot Yellow H located near Shields and Wagner will be reserved for men’s hockey premium parking only beginning at 3 p.m. Friday. Permit holders parked in these areas prior to 3 p.m. are asked to exit no later than 6 p.m. Friday. To ensure that premium parking remains available for the men’s hockey game on Saturday, these areas will close following the conclusion of Friday’s game, and will reopen for men’s hockey premium parking only beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday. Normal weekend access to these areas will resume at approximately 6 p.m. Saturday.
The upper section of Lot Orange F near Holuba Hall will be reserved for men’s hockey premium parking only on Friday from approximately 3 to 10 p.m. Permit holders parked in this area before noon are asked to exit no later than 6 p.m. Friday. This section will also be reserved for men’s hockey premium parking only on Saturday until approximately 6 p.m.
East and Eisenhower Parking Decks
The Middle Atlantic Swimming “Winter Splash” event will be held at McCoy Natatorium from Friday evening through Sunday. Parking for this event on Friday evening will be available at the East Parking Deck, with the standard $1 per hour fee due for vehicles without a valid Penn State permit. On Saturday and Sunday, event parking will be available at the East and Eisenhower parking decks, with a $5 event parking fee due from any vehicles without a valid Penn State permit.
The Eisenhower Auditorium will present Mosaic at 4 p.m. Sunday, with parking available at Eisenhower Deck at no charge beginning at 3 p.m., courtesy of Penn State’s Center for the Performing Arts.
Nittany Parking Deck and Lot Red A
Faculty, staff and students who normally park at the Nittany Parking Deck and Lot Red A should expect additional traffic in these areas from Friday evening through Sunday due to the following weekend events at Rec Hall:
- NCAA Women’s Volleyball 1st Round (Penn State vs. Howard) at Rec Hall at 7:30 p.m. Friday
- NCAA Women’s Volleyball 2nd Round (TBD) at Rec Hall at 7:30 p.m. Saturday
- Nittany Lion Open wrestling meet at Rec Hall at 8:30 a.m. Sunday
Lot Orange B
Parking for those attending the volleyball tournament being held this weekend at the IM Building will be available at Lot Orange B (located near the Nittany Lion Softball Park) beginning at 5 p.m. Friday through 7 a.m. Monday.
