UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Elley Duhé, known for tracks such as “immortal” and the recent “Kids of the Night,” will headline Summer Welcome Fest on Saturday, June 26, at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park.
Doors open at 8:30 p.m. and is open to all Penn State students at no charge. The event was made possible by the student-initiated fee and financial support from the Student Fee Board. Summer Welcome Fest will feature classic ballpark fare such as popcorn and Berkey Creamery ice cream, with views of Mt. Nittany while meeting classmates and listening to live music.
Duhé, originally from Alabama, got her start in music by playing in coffee shops, bars, restaurants and private parties before getting the attention of songwriters in Nashville. But it would be her own songwriting on “immortal” that would garner millions of listens on Spotify. After signing with RCA Records, Duhé released her debut album, “Dragon Mentality,” featuring tracks such as “Lost my Mind” and “Way Down Low.”
Summer Welcome Fest is part of Penn State’s slate of activities for Welcome Week, June 26-July 12. These events at the start of Summer Session II will welcome new students to the University Park campus and help them acclimate to college life. Events for Welcome Week at the start of the fall 2021 semester will be available in mid-July.
