Beginning Dec. 22, there will be a new process for logging in to computers that use Windows 7 in Penn State computer labs and at classroom podiums across the University. The process will require students, faculty and staff members to add “@dce.psu.edu” to the end of their Penn State user ID (e.g., xyz5000@dce.psu.edu), followed by their usual password when signing in. Login attempts that do not include “@dce.psu.edu” will not work even if an individual’s user ID and password are correct.
This new process will address an authentication issue in the Windows 7 operating system and will be in place until the lab computers are updated to Windows 10 in summer 2017.
All lab and podium computers that use Windows 7 and are managed by Teaching and Learning with Technology at the University Park campus will be affected, as will computers across colleges and campuses that participate in the Cooperative Lab Management service.
To view an interactive map of participating computers at each campus, visit the Classroom and Lab Computing website.
