UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Have you ever visited a national park and wondered who's protecting these breathtaking natural resources, and how? If so, attend the kickoff event in this season's "Huddle with the Faculty" series.Penn State faculty and graduate students are helping the National Park Service explore ways to protect the ecological and experiential values of parks. On Saturday, Sept. 12, Peter Newman, professor and head of the Penn State Department of Recreation, Park and Tourism Management, will present, "Preservation and Use in Our National Parks: Trying Not to Love them to Death." The 24th annual Huddle with the Faculty series takes place every Saturday morning on home football weekends. Admission is free and open to the public, with free parking available in the Nittany Parking Deck. Complimentary breakfast refreshments will be served at 8:30 a.m., and the presentation will begin at 9 a.m. in The Nittany Lion Inn.
