Outdoor adventure race, 'Extreme Stater,' open to Penn State students

The "Extreme Stater" competition, designed for adventure-seeking undergraduate students on Penn State's University Park campus, will be held April 14. Twenty-five teams will compete on Stone Valley's outdoor obstacle course, which includes vertical challenges, running, team obstacles and more. Registration for the event begins Monday, March 12 in the Adventure Recreation Center, Room 133A of the White Building on the University Park campus. Early registration may be necessary to guarantee a spot.

Each Extreme Stater team consists of four competitors (two males and two females); all four team members must be present to register. Competitors must bring a current Penn State student ID and a current driver's license (or personal identification card) along with the registration fee ($20 cash per individual or $80 per team).  An event waiver form is required and will be available at the time of registration. Students 17 or younger will be required to have guardian signature on the waiver.

Participation is open to all on- and off-campus Penn State undergraduate students at University Park. Registration will end when 25 teams have registered, or by April 6. The registration fee includes an event T-shirt, lunch, a gym bag and a chance to win a variety of prizes. Transportation will be provided to Stone Valley from the HUB-Robeson Center. Current sponsors of this event include University Health Services, the Association of Residence Hall Students (ARHS), Residence Life, Student Activities, Adventure Recreation and Stone Valley Recreation Area.
