UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Lion Surplus will hold a furniture sale at the Nittany Lion Inn from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily from Monday, Dec. 5, through Friday, Dec. 9. Penn State Transportation Services has announced the following parking impacts and event parking information.
Green B surface lot closure and Nittany Deck parking restrictions
The following impacts will take place Monday, Dec. 5, through Friday, Dec. 9:
- The Green B surface lot will be closed from Monday, Dec. 5, through Friday, Dec. 9, for Lion Surplus’ furniture sale.
- As the Nittany Deck is expected to reach capacity due to the sale, parking at the deck will be reserved for permit holders with Nittany Deck daytime parking access and hourly visitor parking between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.
- Hourly student parking will not be permitted at the Nittany Deck between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. during this timeframe.
Heavy traffic warning
Heavy traffic is expected around the Nittany Lion Inn and the Nittany Deck during furniture sale hours, and drivers are urged to avoid this area if possible.
Nittany Deck visitor parking is expected to reach capacity at various times next week. Should this occur, the deck will be reserved for Green B permit holder and ADA parking only. All other vehicles will be redirected to park at the East or West decks.
Furniture sale parking
Parking will be available for $1 per hour at the following locations:
- Nittany Deck and East Deck — vehicles 6'9" and under.
- West Deck — vehicles 7'9" and under.
Oversized vehicles (7'9" and above) and vehicles with trailers will be required to park at Porter North and pay using the in-lot pay station or the ParkMobile app (zone no. 95112).

Transit to and from Porter North
There will be a free shuttle between Porter North and the Nittany Lion Inn running from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday both to and from the furniture sale. There will be a maximum capacity of 14 passengers per shuttle.
Visitors also may use one of the free CATA campus bus routes (Red Link, Blue Loop, White Loop) to ride from one of the Commuter lots stops to the nearest CATA bus stop to the Nittany Lion Inn (the Pattee Transit Center).
