Penn State All-Sports Museum to host three Olympics watch parties

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Penn State All-Sports Museum will host three Olympic Games watch parties on NBC, courtesy of Comcast, between Aug. 14-16, 2016.

On Sunday, Aug. 14, at 4:05 p.m., Team USA women’s volleyball team will take on China. The U.S. team has opened the Olympic games with a victories over Puerto Rico and the Netherlands. Penn Staters on Team USA include captain Christa (Harmotto) Dietzen, and Alicia Glass, as well as alternates Megan (Hodge) Easy and Nicole Fawcett. Museum doors open at 12 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 14, with the Clemens Family Theater opening at 3 p.m. and remaining open until the end of the match.

On Monday, Aug. 15, at 10:35 a.m., Team USA men’s volleyball will take on Mexico. Penn Staters on Team USA include Matt Anderson, Max Holt, and Aaron Russell. Penn Staters representing Mexico include Carlos Guerra and assistant coach Ivan Contreras. The museum will open at 9:30 a.m. and remain open until the end of the match.

On Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2016, the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team is anticipated to enter semifinals with a match at 1 p.m. or 3 p.m. Team USA opened the Olympics with wins over New Zealand and France. Penn Staters on Team USA are Ali Krieger and Alyssa Naeher. Watch party time will be announced on Saturday, August 13, after the quarterfinals the evening before.

Refreshments will be served at each watch party. This event is free and open to the community.
