UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — For the fourth consecutive year, the Penn State Alumni Association will sponsor the Penn State THON Pep Rally during THON Weekend 2022, set for Feb. 18-20 at the Bryce Jordan Center.

Highlighted by another arena-wide white out, the Pep Rally — scheduled this year for the evening of Saturday, Feb. 19 — is always one of the most popular THON events, featuring multiple performances by Penn State sports teams on stage at the BJC.

“THON has been an important part of the Penn State experience for 50 years and its impact is a point of pride for Penn State alumni around the world," said Alumni Association CEO Paul Clifford, a 2020 Penn State graduate. "Even in challenging circumstances, the work of THON volunteers and alumni that support this effort continues to inspire. The Alumni Association is always proud to partner with THON and play a role in the fight to end childhood cancer.”

THON 2022 will once again be in-person, with an engaging livestream via THON's 46Live for those who want to get a robust dance marathon from wherever they may be located.

As part of THON's previously announced COVID-19 protocols, all Penn State students and employees wishing to access the event level (floor) or mezzanine will be required to provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19. All families, spectators, volunteers and dancers will be required to be masked at all times, regardless of vaccination status, in accordance with University guidelines.

Only Four Diamonds families whose children are not on active treatment will be able to attend THON Weekend in person. Any case-by-case decisions require written consent from their treatment provider.

Additionally, all individuals entering the BJC ages 2 and older will be required to show either proof of vaccination against COVID-19 or proof of negative COVID-19 test performed on Wednesday, Feb. 16, or later.

All dancers and THON committee volunteers also will be required to provide proof of negative COVID-19 test dated Wednesday, Feb. 16, or later, in addition to being vaccinated as previously announced. Additional information will be sent directly to dancers and volunteers.
