UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State’s COVID-19 dashboard has been updated to show the results of University-provided coronavirus testing at all campus locations through Feb. 11. Over the last seven days at University Park, 2,297 total tests have been administered, resulting in 133 positive cases, for a total seven-day positivity rate of 5.8%. This includes 125 student positive results from 2,133 student tests performed (5.9% positivity rate) and eight employee positives from 164 employee tests (4.9% positivity rate).

Testing at all other Penn State campuses over the last seven days has resulted in two total positive results.

With many students having already returned to or in the process of returning to their campus community for the start of in-person learning on Feb. 15, Penn State is reminding students that the COVID-19 health guidelines and student expectations that were in place during the fall are continuing for the spring semester. This means students are strongly urged to avoid large gatherings this weekend and must continue to wear face masks and practice physical distancing, both on and off campus.

Students also are reminded that Penn State has testing requirements and optional testing in place to identify potential positive cases in a timely manner, and the University is conducting contact tracing and utilizing quarantine and isolation housing to help limit virus spread.

At University Park there are currently 28 students in quarantine and isolation housing, representing 7% of the total 400-room quarantine and isolation capacity at Eastview Terrace. There are currently three students in quarantine and isolation housing at the Commonwealth Campuses.

During the first two weeks of in-person learning (Feb. 15 to 26), the University will require universal COVID-19 re-testing of all students who are taking in-person classes or who are taking a fully remote or online course load while living in Centre County or within a 20-mile radius of a Penn State campus. Detailed information about mandatory universal re-testing, including universal testing dates, times and locations by campus, can be found on Penn State’s revamped coronavirus information website.
