MIDDLETOWN, Pa. — Penn State Harrisburg will present “Invisible Disabilities: Fact or Fiction?” from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 19, via Zoom. The event is open to all faculty, staff and students and will discuss what invisible disabilities are and how to support those individuals living with them.
The event is the first in a three-part diversity series to be offered at the college. The series is intended to provide training opportunities for employees to discover a safe place to acknowledge differences; to build relationships with those who are different; to learn how to create a more inclusive campus environment; and to assess workplace values.
Panelists for the session include:
- Daniel Mallinson, assistant professor of public policy and administration in the college’s School of Public Affairs.
- Cobi Michael, associate teaching professor in psychology in the college’s School of Behavioral Sciences and Education.
- Doug Rubin, a third-year student studying structural design and construction engineering technology at Penn State Harrisburg.
- Leah Zimmerman, executive director of Student Disability Resources for Penn State.
