Penn State launches TikTok account to engage with current, prospective students

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — To further engage with prospective and current students on social media, Penn State has established an official TikTok account

The account aims to reach audiences beyond those that follow Penn State’s existing social media platforms. The University’s TikTok account will highlight student life, providing a holistic glimpse into the Penn State experience at campuses across the commonwealth. Followers of the University's TikTok account can expect to find unique, student-centric video content that provides insight into the breadth and depth of opportunities available at Penn State, including academics, research, clubs and organizations, athletics and more.  

TikTok was the most downloaded app worldwide in 2022. The platform allows users to create, share and watch short videos. Nearly 80% of TikTok’s 80 million monthly active users in the U.S. are between the ages of 16 and 34. 

Follow Penn State on TikTok using @pennstate and its other official social media accounts on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn. Penn State’s Social Media Office also manages The Nittany Lion and PSUResearch accounts on Twitter.
